Art in Action

A special class during which we are going to look at 2 or 3 artists to learn about how they make art and what they want to communicate through their pieces. 
​We will experiment with drawing and painting and produce our own artwork during the lesson 

​Telling Stories through Art

Contemporary artists have often used art to tell stories linked to their life or to the world around. During these lessons  we are going to talk about different techniques used by artists like Faith Ringgold, Maria Lai, Louise Bourgeois and Alberto Giacometti. We will understand how they have used their creativity to tell us stories about important aspects of their life.

​Abstract Expressionism
​corso in 3 lezioni 

During the 3 lessons of this course we will learn about the artists who in the 1940s , in New York, approached art in a new different way, called later Abstract Expressionism. They changed the way we now see abstract painting, sculpture and collage. We are going to be inspired by Hans Hofmann, Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Louise Nevelson and many others to create our own abstract art works.

​Materials in Art 
​3 sessions 

During the 3 lessons of this course we will learn about artists who used unconventional materials to make art, some of them applying traditional techniques and some using materials in a very original way. We will look at artists like Leoncillo, Marion Baruch, Giuseppe Penone, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Maria Merz, learning how everyday objects can be transformed in a piece of art.
*English Speakers (ES) 
The teacher will develop a theme, showing the children many different artists and approaches, and engaging them in discussions and activities linked to the theme.
The course consists of more than one lesson. Each lesson lasts 1hr.
The teacher will speak English all the time.
You can register for single lessons or for packages.

*English Learners (EL) 
L'insegnante focalizzera' l'attenzione sull'insegnamento dell'inglese come seconda lingua. I bambini hanno l'opportunità di imparare nuovi vocaboli ed espressioni in inglese a seconda del loro livello, mentre si divertono con attività artistiche ispirate a grandi artisti
Il corso consiste in più lezioni. Ogni lezione dura circa 1 ora.
L'insegnante parlerà sempre in inglese.
​E' possibile registrarsi per singole lezioni o per pacchetti.
